Boot camp is a group physical training program that is typically one hour long and incorporates dynamic movements - such as push-ups, squats, burpees and weightlifting - into high intensity intervals. The exercises are designed to increase one’s overall physical fitness through fat loss, gains in strength, and increased cardiovascular fitness. The explosive movements, which are performed in groups, are designed to encourage the participants to push themselves a bit further than they would on their own. The sessions generally end with a slow stretching period. The style of the exercise routines are often militaristic.
